Role Purpose
We are seeking a Business Analyst with a strategic mindset and strong analytical acumen to drive operational excellence and enable globally aligned operations. This role will lead the analysis and optimisation of business processes, ensuring alignment between technology solutions, operational performance, and strategic objectives. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, the Business Analyst will identify opportunities to streamline operations, enhance data-driven decision-making, and support the successful delivery of Fortescue's product development and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Analysis Activities: Drive the end-to-end analysis of business needs, translating tactical & strategic objectives into actionable requirements.
  • Process Optimisation: Identify inefficiencies across business operations and design scalable, efficient, and standardised processes that align with Fortescue's global operating model.
  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with senior stakeholders across business areas to shape process solutions that enable growth and operational excellence.
  • Requirements Management: Elicit, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment between business and technical teams.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leverage business knowledge and analysis to inform decision-making, define performance measures, and process improvements for system effectiveness.
  • Solution Design Support: Work closely with technology teams to ensure system enhancements and integrations meet business needs and deliver value across multiple functions.
  • Change & Adoption Enablement: Partner with change management and project delivery teams to ensure successful adoption of new & amended systems, processes, and tools.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement: Support the establishment of business analysis standards, documentation practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key interface between business units, product teams, and Technology Groups, ensuring consistent communication and shared understanding of priorities and deliverable

Required
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, or Process Analyst within a complex, fast-paced, product-driven organisation.
  • Process Expertise: Demonstrated ability to analyse, map, and optimise business processes using tools such as Bizzdesign or Visio.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in data analysis and reporting using Excel, with working knowledge of BI tools (e.g. Power BI) to support data-driven insights.
  • Systems & Methodologies: Familiarity with workflow and project management systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence) and experience operating in Agile delivery environments.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret complex data, identify root causes, and propose actionable, pragmatic solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Self-Management: Highly organised and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting large-scale technology or digital transformation initiatives, particularly within ERP, PLM, or data management systems.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or product development environments with a focus on process optimisation and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with data governance, master data management, or enterprise reporting frameworks.

This role is based in Kidlington HQ, with some travel between operational sites expected and according to the project requirements.
