Our Branch Managers in Glasgow and Leeds/Newcastle are excited to bring to market a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Regional Operations Manager working across Scotland and the Leeds/Newcastle areas.

In this role you'll lead and manage operational activities, ensuring operational excellence through robust operational stability and customer service. You'll deliver on our promises to our brokers and customers by simplifying operations and finding capacity to invest where necessary for the longer term. You'll also implement the business plans by managing resources and processes so that a high quality, consistent, efficient and compliant service is provided to brokers to enable profitable growth.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, at our office locations in Glasgow Newcastle and Leeds, visiting clients or attending industry events. Regular travel between the branches will be a key element of the role.

What you'll be doing:

  • Proactively manage all operational processes to ensure they function simply and efficiently to achieve service and quality targets, ensuring operational consistency across the business.
  • Deliver efficiency improvements, both as part of AXA Commercial's Transformation programme, and as part of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Manage the resource plan, to forecast peaks and troughs and deploy people and other resources to deliver priorities whilst controlling quality.
  • Oversee operating budget and headcount to meet expense plans.
  • Lead and motivate employees to achieve financial targets, deliver excellent service, and build a positive culture delivering a strong ENPS score.
  • Provide effective performance management including development, training and succession planning to raise capability and performance.
  • Lead a team of direct reports and deliver operational excellence across the branches.
  • Contact brokers on a regular basis to gain feedback and take appropriate action to Increase satisfaction ratings.
  • Take accountability for the delivery of all compliance targets including FCA, MID, Contract Certainty and TCF to maintain high standards.

What you'll bring:

  • Sound understanding of the insurance market and knowledge of commercial products is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a finance regulated industry is essential.
  • Extensive experience of leading teams and a successful record of delivering results.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate people.
  • Experience of capturing and using customer feedback to drive action.
  • Pragmatic decision-making skills with excellent data analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and experience of building successful long-term relationships both internally and externally.
  • Progress towards ACII or Institute of Management qualification is desirable.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
