Job Summary

This is a day shift Monday to Friday position, no shift or night working.

We are a family owned bakery manufacturer supplying both bread & sweet confectionary to the UK market. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Floor Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bakery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in craft baking, coupled with excellent leadership and team management skills. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of baked goods while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This is a very hands on shop floor based position and you MUST have commercial baking experience. This is not a job for a home baker, you must have the technical knowledge of producing the products.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage bakery staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and performance.
  • Oversee & problem solve within the baking processes to guarantee quality standards are met.
  • Implement food safety protocols to maintain hygiene and compliance with health regulations.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations along side the team.
  • Train new employees in baking techniques, and standards.
  • Develop new recipes and products to enhance the bakery's offerings to attract customers.
  • Monitor daily operations, including scheduling staff shifts and managing workflow.
  • Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

Skills

  • Proven experience within hands on craft bakery by either experience or qualifications.
  • Strong supervisory experience with a focus on team management.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • A passion for baking and food production.
  • Excellent leadership skills to motivate and guide staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production environments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must be capable of jumping in with the team to help bake the products

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £36,000.00 per year
