Junior Baker

The Depot Bakery is an artisan sourdough and confection bakery, serving two cafe venues and wholesale clients across Sheffield.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic junior baker to join our team. You will ideally have some experience in a similar role/environment with a decent grounding and knowledge of artisan methods and techniques, and a breadth of experience across a product range that includes, bread, pastries and cakes. We do not expect you to be the finished article but we do require an enthusiastic, quick learner with a keenness to develop their knowledge.

We need someone familiar with mixing, shaping and baking a range of breads and experience with laminated products. An ability to excel in a fast paced catering environment and some demonstrable experience in a similar commercial setting is highly desirable.

You should have great attention to detail and be always striving to improve products and processes. Ability to uphold and follow recipes, whilst creating and developing new products is crucial, and roles are shared and rotated meaning plenty of variety and scope to bring new ideas.

You will be joining a talented and passionate team, and must be a team player whilst still working independently when needed on your section. You will adhere to strict compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety, and contribute to our positive working cultures.

As a company we have recently introduced a four day working week for all our full time bakers, so the successful candidate can look forward to an extra day off per week, with no drop in salary.

Pay: £25,000.00-£26,500.00 per year
