MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • To ensure that the maintenance of all vehicles under the individuals' control is completed aligned to legislation and customer contractual obligations. With key focus being on improving vehicle availability and reducing vehicle off road time whilst managing cost. Delivering the outputs to agreed deadlines and keeping the fleet management system fully updated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Full responsibility for Maintenance on Allocated Customer Vehicles

  • Ensure the contract vehicles allocated to you, are maintained aligned to legislation and contractual obligations.
  • Clear focus on VORs, sourcing the correct and most direct solution to ensure vehicles are back on the road urgently within contractual timescales.
  • Ensuring warranty periods are maximised or policy claims applied for.
  • Minimising use of third parties where SFS has workshop employees available, and negotiating with third party repair agents to ensure fair charges where SFS is not present.
  • Sourcing the most competitive and cost-efficient parts and suppliers
  • Highlighting product issues to manufacturers ensuring safety and that any costs incurred are reimbursed by the manufacturer.
  • Informing large cost repairs to senior management promptly and recommending and arranging remedial action.
  • Arranging the most cost efficient repair considering contractual obligations.

Responsible for the validity of the Jobs and data within the Fleet management system

  • Accurate and timely entry of CTS/SFS jobs on Fleetwave, including updating of jobs through the job process.
  • Ensure jobs are only completed to the financial limits as set in the Fleetwave system for you. Any updates required over this limit being immediately communicated to your manager prior to approval so the correct authorisations are followed.
  • Where jobs are completed, updating and issuing purchase orders for all the completed actions.
  • Providing technical guidance, support and advice to fleet desk staff, depot staff and customers
  • Organising warranty repairs and third party repairs.
  • Identifying and recharging promptly damage charges to customers.
  • To ensure KPI's are accurate and followed up in a timely manner.
  • Resolving queries with suppliers, manufacturers, customers and staff in a timely manner.

Customer Relationships

  • Building relationship with key stakeholders for allocated contracts
  • Actively work with the client to ensure SFS meet their contractual obligations.
  • Liaising with SFS contract manager to ensure great customer service.

Participate as a member of the Technical Service team

  • Participating as an active member of the team to cover for a callout facility for OOH standby / breakdowns.
  • Actively support the technical maintenance team in providing the contractual commitments for holiday and absences.
  • Be an active member responsible for answering fleet desk calls and directing or acting on the calls.

Supplier management

  • Locate and approve an appropriate national supplier network
  • Negotiate and agree SLA's.
  • Liaise With Finance and the supplier through the supplier on boarding Process.
  • Review suppliers on an ongoing basis.
  • Supplier visits and audits where required.

Mobile network Control

  • Management of daily workloads of mobile technicians within your control.
  • Manage, prioritise and agree activities between mobile technicians and locations within your control.
  • Ensure adequate cover is always available to ensure customer expectations are met in line with business needs.

About You
Essential Skills

  • Excellent demonstratable skills in planning and time management
  • Proven track record in prioritising workloads, and adaptable approach to workloads
  • Extremely proficient in MS Suite
  • Proven track record in delivery of outputs to deadlines
  • Confident communication skills
  • Customer service skills and the ability to work alone whilst being a team player.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working with O Licence vehicles with a strong technical ability.

Desirable Skills

  • Having worked in a commercial vehicle facility
  • NVQ 3 level 3 in HGV mechanics or equivalent
  • CPC in Road Haulage
  • Full clean driving licence

Working hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible hours to meet the needs of the business.
