Job Purpose

To lead the management and delivery of contracts from client engagement through planning, resourcing, and execution, ensuring full compliance with ISO-accredited procedures and company standards. The Contract Manager will liaise closely with the Operations Manager, Managing Director, and Operations Director to ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The role also includes assisting in feeding back on staff performance and development of career paths. The role also includes responsibility for maintaining relationships with existing clients, maximizing contract revenues and development of supply partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Business Development

· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business, satisfaction and maximizing client revenue streams.

· Respond to new business opportunities in line with company growth objectives.

· Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the contract life cycle.

· Attend client meetings, networking and other promotional events, to promote VMS Ltd services.

Contract Development & Planning

· Receive and process inquiries in accordance with ISO-approved procedures.

· Prepare and submit quotations and proposals in collaboration with senior commercial management.

· Liaise with the Operations Manager to ensure sufficient resources are allocated for contract delivery.

· Oversee the implementation of job planning systems and ensure timely execution.

Delivery & Compliance

· Ensure contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specification.

· Produce and manage documentation including CPPs, RAMS, and Task Briefs.

· Oversee worksites and ensure regular inspections and visits are conducted.

· Oversee reporting on client contract KPIs (where required).

· Review contract performance and safety metrics and undertake appropriate response.

Staff Development & Competency Management

· Support mentoring and development of staff, especially newly qualified or under performing personnel.

· Assist in the development of staff career path via appraisals, feedback and meetings.

Health, Safety & Environmental Management

· Ensure compliance with company ISO accredited procedures and systems.

· Investigate, review and report accidents and incidents and undertake appropriate response.

Skills & Experience

· Industry experience in relevant contract or operations management.

· Level 2 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).

· Level 3 or above suitable qualification.

· Proficient in IT Systems, Apps, CIM and other business support software.

· Confident with face to face meetings and presentations.

· Conflict resolution and use of initiative to find solutions.

· Ability to build and maintain strong client relations.

· Good decision maker.

· Experience of managing staff at a group and one to one level.

· Ability to multi-task and plan peak workflows.

Desirable Attributes

· Professional Membership in connection with level 3 qualification.

· Experience managing multi-site operations and regional teams.

· Strong client-facing and negotiation skills.

· Familiarity with ISO-accredited systems and CDM 2015 compliance.

Briefing Score - Score of at least 2

Quality- Quality audit score of 2 on average -Defect/snagging/re-visit scores of 1 to be less than 5% of overall total

Incident/accident rate of not more than No. incidents/accidents/Operative total hours worked)

25 close calls per month minimum

Close out timescales of 10 working days maximum.

Weekly Active Monitoring/Senior Manager safety tour

Minimum of 1 per week based on work volumes. - Minimum of 1 per week based on work volumes.

Sales - As per agreed budget

Client Satisfaction Score - ≥ 95% positive client feedback

EA AOMR quarterly KPI's average score by contract of 4

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
