DEPARTMENT OF CANCER SERVICES

Oncology Outpatient Department

Senior Charge Nurse

Band 7: 37 hours per week

Permanent**
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, appropriately experienced and qualified nurse to lead the Oncology/Haematology/Radiotherapy Outpatient Services Department.

The department is situated within Edinburgh Cancer Centre and provides specialist oncology and haematology services to Lothian and for the South-East of Scotland. The department provides a high quality, safe and supportive environment to care for patients with oncological and haematological malignancies by meeting the identified physical and psycho-social needs.

The area also provides brachy therapy and radiotherapy for patients in the Southeast of Scotland and beyond.

Nursing staff participate in treatment reviews and there will opportunity to further develop nursing roles. Approximately patients attend the department daily for radiotherapy and the remainder to outpatient clinics

The successful applicant will be supported by the Deputy Charge Nurse to lead a knowledgeable and dynamic team of nurses in the delivery and high quality of care of patients.
