About the Role

We are seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join our 3-bedded Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children's home based in Erdington.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader ready to step up, or an established Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive and progressive organisation.

You will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding. You will also complete two office/admin shifts per week to assist with audits, reports, and overall home management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of the home's operation
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the staff team to deliver outstanding care
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies
  • Participate in the on-call rota and complete sleep ins

Requirements

  • Experience working within a children's residential care setting (EBD experience desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (desirable)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proactive and compassionate approach to supporting young people
  • Full UK driving licence (automatic) – essential
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
