About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our 3-bedded EBD children's home in Handsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader ready to step up, or an existing Deputy Manager seeking a supportive and values-driven environment.

You will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding requirements, and the delivery of high-quality care. The role also includes two office/admin shifts per week to support management tasks, reporting, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in managing all aspects of the home's operation
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a small team to deliver outstanding care
  • Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and company procedures
  • Participate in the on-call rota and complete up to 50 sleep-ins per year

Requirements

  • Experience in children's residential care (EBD experience desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (desirable)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proactive, reflective, and child-centred approach
  • Full UK driving licence (automatic) – essential
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
