Head of Information Technology

The Head of IT will be responsible for shaping and implementing Avalon's IT strategy across our London, LA and NY offices, ensuring that our technology infrastructure supports business operations efficiently and securely. The role requires a combination of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on management to drive IT improvements, manage third-party suppliers, and oversee IT support for all staff. Additionally, the role will involve ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations, as well as fostering innovation within the IT function to drive efficient and compliant work practices across the business.

Strategic IT Leadership

· Develop and implement the group-wide IT strategy.

·      Lead the seamless integration of different business divisions into Avalon's IT systems and  existing framework.

· Identify and implement new technologies to improve business efficiency and security.

· Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices across the organisation.

· Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cost-effective service delivery.

IT Operations & Support

· Oversee the management of all IT infrastructure, including network, cloud storage, and security.

·       Ensure excellent IT support for all staff across our global sites, providing oversight and guidance to the IT team.

· Develop a robust IT disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

· Manage and enhance cybersecurity measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

· Oversee IT support for productions, ensuring timely setup and support.

·       Ensure the security of data across all IT systems and devices in accordance with GDPR and company policies.

· Maintain accurate documentation of all operational systems and ensure sufficient performance capacity.

Budget & Supplier Management

· Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement and resource allocation.

· Manage relationships with external suppliers and negotiate contracts to optimise IT services.

· Oversee the procurement and deployment of IT equipment and software across the business.

· Ensure IT contract and billing processes with third parties are effectively managed.

Team Management & Development

· Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal IT support at all times.

·       Encourage professional development within the IT team to stay ahead of technological advancements.

·       Promote best practices in IT service management and delivery.
YOU

About you:

• Proven experience in IT leadership roles, ideally within creative, media, production, or a similar fast-paced industry.
• Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, network security, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience in leading IT integration projects following acquisitions or mergers.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate IT concepts to non-technical teams.
• Experience in managing IT budgets and negotiating with third-party providers.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing IT teams.
• Ability to manage change and implement business transformation projects.
• Experience in business re-engineering and process improvements.
• Knowledge of IT best practices in service management and cybersecurity.
