Summary
Reporting into the Head of Business Development, we are seeking a Technical Sales & Customer Services Assistant to deliver excellent customer service to develop new and existing customer accounts. This role will require the development of technical knowledge across the application of Ropes, Cords & Braids in our markets, dealing with new technical enquires through to close.

The role focus will be 30% Proactive account management (develop sales skills), 30% Reactive new business management (quoting and follow up / develop technical skills), 20% Customer services – develop market knowledge, 20% Marketing support - build pipeline / network.

Responsibilities of a Technical Sales & Customer Services Assistant:

  • First line for answering the incoming calls and incoming sales orders.
  • Manage the setting up of new parts within ERP.
  • Liaise with customers on deliveries and schedules.
  • Deal with production on updates on production.
  • Deal with customer complaints excluding named accounts.
  • Help customers with correct product selection and order.
  • Undertake paperwork and admin associated with internal processes.
  • Ensure that orders are taken correctly and professionally.
  • Develop product knowledge for entire product range including codes.
  • Upsell promotional products with orders.
  • Maintain customer information on Database with every incoming call.
  • Ensure all orders are entered onto the system daily.
  • Eliminate all returns associated with Sales Order Processing.
  • Contact all customers 48 hours after delivery ensuring satisfaction.
  • Ensure orders are despatched on the agreed date when made to order, and same day if from stock.
  • New business development support.
  • Exhibition Support and some customer travel to develop key customers.

Requirements to be successful as a Technical Sales & Customer Services Assistant:

  • Ideally a recognised qualification with an Engineering bias or strong knowledge / interest in Engineering / Ex-Military.
  • Ideally 2 years customer service or sales experience or professional qualification, to be able to work toward and achieve sales objectives.
  • Ability to learn technical information quickly and develop relationships with customers and prospects to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • ERP / CRM experience.
  • Good Excel and Word skills.
  • Analytical and strong with numbers.
  • Able to multitask, staying calm under pressure, with excellent time-management, organisational and prioritising.
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written, fluent in the English language and second language would be beneficial.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and with teams across the business.
  • Ideallyexperience of dealing with logistic companies and export documentation.
  • Ideally Interest outside of work in a pursuit linked to rope.
  • Must have a driving license.

Commutable from Bromyard, Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern, Pershore, Tewkesbury, Worcester.

Hours:
8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, office based with some travel for business needs to events / customer meetings.
