Shared Lives provides long-term placements and respite breaks, helping citizens build independence, confidence, and community connections - it can be an amazing alternative to Supported Living or Residential Care.
The Shared Lives Service is on an exciting transformation journey, and you will be part of a strong team who by working collaboratively with social care workers, wider partners and communities will continue to build and shape the Shared Lives offer. We are looking for a dynamic, person-centred, compassionate person who has the zest and energy to inspire those around them, who are authentic and have a sense of purpose, driving positive change.
This is a leadership role which will involve supporting and managing the existing Shared Lives team.
About The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:

- Deputise for the Service Manager, managing performance, allocating work, and overseeing service delivery.
- Lead on carer recruitment, assessment, training, and development.
- Manage a small caseload and contribute to placement planning and quality assurance.
- Respond to complaints, safeguarding concerns, and service needs flexibly including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Liaise with external agencies including CQC and represent the service at local and national forums.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with adults with support needs in care or community settings.
- Holds a Level 4 qualification in Care or Management (e.g. NVQ4, DipSW, RGN, OT)
- Understands CQC regulations and safeguarding practices.
- Is a confident communicator, motivator, and team player
- Has strong organisational, IT, and report-writing skills.
- Can demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to service development.
Why Join Us?
Shared Lives is undergoing an exciting transformation. You'll be part of a growing team shaping the future of the service, with opportunities to influence strategy, innovate, and make a real difference in citizens' lives.
