About the Role
A developing Independent School in Brent is seeking a creative and skilled Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Engineering for a permanent, full-time position starting in September. The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Engineering) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop their understanding of engineering principles and practical skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology Teacher (Engineering) lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology with a focus on Engineering.
- Develop students' understanding of engineering concepts, materials, and design processes.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback as a Design & Technology Teacher (Engineering).
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design & Technology curriculum, specifically within Engineering.
- Maintain a safe and effective workshop environment for engineering activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology, ideally with a focus on Engineering.
- Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with experience in Engineering.
- Strong practical skills and knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and design.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to inspire creativity and technical proficiency in Engineering among students.
- A commitment to collaborative teamwork and a supportive school environment.
