Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in care settings such as nursing homes, care homes, or assisted living facilities, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
  • Help with mobility and transfers to ensure safety when moving around the home or care facility.
  • Prepare meals and assist with dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Document daily activities and any changes in clients' health status accurately.
  • Engage clients in social activities and cognitive exercises, particularly for those with dementia care needs.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role within nursing homes, assisted living, or home care settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration protocols is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate health-related information.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
