Duties And Responsibilities
Purpose
- Develop the team and project support standardization of provision.
- Effective planning, estimating, cost control services, support to the Senior Managers and Project Managers in the East.
- Implement and maintain the project controls process, continuously improving as required.
- Ensure the Project managers receive performance management information and reports required for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide an efficient document controls service to the project managers
Functions
Leadership, Team Maintenance and Development
- Support Senior Managers/project managers in development and implementation of the Project Controls team for the EAST.
- Support OPG staff within the project controls team in their career development within the wider OPG organisation.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the project controls requirements in each of the project Contracts and provide guidance and support to the project controls team to ensure these are achieved.
Manage the project controls resources to provide support to the project teams in accomplishing their agreed business objectives in terms of
Planning
- Cost Control
- Contract Support
- Procurement
Document Control
Implement, and maintain an effective cost control system which can be implemented on all projects, which addresses, project cost estimating, benchmarking, reporting, identification of variances and effective change control.
- Implement and maintain an effective project reporting and governance calendar, ensure collation and presentation of consolidated performance reports and KPI's across the projects
- Support bid process
- Ensure that all internal financial reporting is undertaken in accordance with the agreed timelines and processes.
Safety
Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Other
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities in projects.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- A working knowledge of project planning principles and software
- A working knowledge of budget control systems, and cost estimating, benchmarking and forecasting
- An understanding of Commercial contracts and sub-contracts
DESIRED
- Degree qualified
- An understanding of risk and MoC processes and their application, awareness of cost and schedule risk analysis
- A minimum of 10 years' industry experience, with 3 in a supervisory position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics
- A proven capability of providing clear and concise information that will assist PM decision making.
- Strong written and interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others in a collaborative and non-confrontational manner.
- A proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience of working within multicultural teams and in the coaching and development of staff
