Presales Data Solutions Architect - Azure

Home-based in the UK (no sponsorship can be offered)

Must be eligible for SC Clearance

This role is for a Presales Data Solutions Architect to be a key part in a growing data practice. Someone who is focused on data and analytics, with expertise in Microsoft Azure data services. With technical depth and commercial insight to design modern data solutions that bring real business value.

This is a hands-on pre-sales position where you'll translate complex business problems into innovative cloud-based data architectures. You'll work closely with clients, internal teams, and technology partners to create proof-of-concepts, solution designs, and persuasive proposals that demonstrate both technical excellence and business impact.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as a
    data and analytics evangelist
    , inspiring both clients and colleagues with your knowledge and enthusiasm for modern data platforms.
  • Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to qualify opportunities and shape tailored solutions.
  • Designing and presenting end-to-end Microsoft data architectures like Azure Synapse Analytics, Fabric and Power BI with Dynamics 365, Power Platform, AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio.
  • Develop and deliver
    technical presentations, demos, and workshops
    that clearly articulate the value of proposed architectures.
  • Lead the creation of
    technical and commercial content
    for proposals and bids.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions using the Microsoft data ecosystem.
  • Advise clients on
    data platform design
    , governance, performance, and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Contribute to go-to-market plans and internal frameworks that strengthen our data offering.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and market trends, bringing fresh ideas and insight to the team.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
  • Represent the data practice at
    industry events, conferences, and webinars
    to showcase our expertise.

Key Experience

  • Strong experience in a
    pre-sales or solution architecture
    role focused on data and analytics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure data services
    , including Fabric, Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Databricks, and Azure AI
  • Skilled in data architecture patterns
    , data lakes, and lakehouse design.
  • Demonstrable experience creating
    value-driven proposals and technical demos
    for enterprise customers.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—able to translate complex technical ideas into clear business value.
  • Commercial awareness and experience building solutions ranging from
    mid-size to enterprise-scale
    .
  • Understanding of
    ETL/ELT best practices
    , data governance (e.g. Purview), and data security standards.
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as the
    Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
    or the
    Well-Architected Framework
    .
  • 8+ years in technology consulting, ideally across sectors such as public services, financial services, or non-profits and practical experience with data engineering or integration tools.
