About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and reliable Mobile Cleaning Supervisor to join our growing team at Clay & Co. Facilities Group.

This is a hands-on and physically active role supporting the day-to-day operations of our cleaning contracts across schools, offices, and other sites within 30 minutes of Trowbridge.

Your main responsibility will be providing cleaning cover during staff absences, ensuring our clients always receive a high-quality, uninterrupted service. When no cover is required, you'll support the cleaning teams, carry out welfare checks, and maintain cleaning and compliance standards across sites.

You'll act as the link between the cleaning staff and management, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly across our contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cleaning cover across multiple sites during staff absences (this is the core duty and takes priority)
  • Be at the Trowbridge office and ready to leave in the company van by 4pm
  • Act as a key holder when covering multi-day or weekly absences (responsible for opening, securing, and setting alarms)
  • Complete company-provided Emergency First Aid at Work and Mental Health First Aid training
  • When not covering, carry out spot checks, welfare visits, and stock checks to support site teams
  • Deliver induction and refresher training (toolbox talks) to cleaning staff
  • Monitor and restock cleaning cupboards, ensuring supplies are available and stored correctly
  • Support the start-up of new cleaning contracts, assisting with initial cleaning and onboarding new staff
  • Report daily findings and issues using company systems and update the staff communication log
  • Attend weekly check-ins with management (Contract Manager and Operations Director)
  • Occasionally work beyond 7pm (up to 8pm) or weekends when required (with notice)

Tools & Communication

  • Company van and fuel card (collected and returned to Trowbridge office daily)
  • Company iPhone and iPad provided for communication and reporting
  • Daily communication via WhatsApp and phone calls – must be confident giving clear information and updates
  • Comfortable using technology and apps for reporting, logging jobs, and completing digital forms

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Cleaning Supervisor or Mobile Cleaner/Supervisor
  • Strong understanding of cleaning standards, COSHH, and health & safety compliance
  • Physically fit and able to carry out active cleaning and manual handling tasks
  • Confident communicator by phone, WhatsApp, and in person
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and well-organised with great attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Professional, self-motivated, and approachable with a positive attitude
