About The Pheasant:

The Pheasant is a well-established and charming pub located in St Newlyn East, known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, exceptional service, and delicious food and beverages. We are currently seeking a Front of House Employee to join our dedicated team and contribute to the success of our establishment.

Key-holder and additional responsibilities available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, taking orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.

Table Service: Seat guests and assist with menu selections.

Take food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff through the epos system.

Ensure tables are clean, set up, and organized.

Cash Handling: Handle cash and card transactions accurately.

Issue receipts and provide change to customers.

Adhere to the pub's cash handling policies.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the front of house area, including tables, bar, and surrounding areas, clean and tidy.

Assist with cleaning and setting up tables for the next customers.

Compliance with UK Licensing Laws: Ensure that customers are of legal drinking age and act responsibly regarding alcohol service.

Comply with all licensing regulations and ensure the responsible sale of alcohol.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other front of house and kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations.

Assist colleagues when needed to provide a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role is essential. You need to know your way around beer pumps,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with UK licensing laws.
  • An understanding of food and beverage service in different venues.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Working Hours: The Front of House Employee role will typically involve working evening and weekend shifts. The exact working hours will be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
