The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has an interest in family and children matters and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment as part of a busy department.

As a Paralegal in our Family & Children team, you will provide essential support to our lawyers, assisting in case preparation, legal research, document drafting, and client contact. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assisting solicitors with case management in all aspects of public and private law children matters. This could include dealing with day-to-day correspondence, drafting documents, legal research, using the Legal Aid CCMS system and speaking to clients.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries.
  • Drafting legal documents, including witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
  • Managing client files and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and other third parties professionally and efficiently.
  • Attending court hearings and taking detailed notes when required.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.

Previous experience in a similar paralegal role is preferable but not essential for the right candidate.

The following are essential:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
