This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, confident Internal Communications professional to join Deloitte's UK Internal Communications & Engagement team. The Head of Internal Communications role advises and supports the UK Audit & Assurance (A&A) Managing Partner, Chief of Staff and leadership team to plan, develop and deliver an engaging communications strategy. Reporting to the UK Head of Internal Communications, Business Partnering & Change Projects, the successful candidate will work closely with senior Communications peers in our other businesses as well as the wider UK Internal Communications & Engagement team and Corporate Affairs team, to ensure communications channels, processes and messages are consistent with, and contribute to, firmwide communications and our Ambition (strategy) and purpose.
This senior Internal Communications role is a vital business partner for A&A, and the successful candidate will be a proven operator with a strong track record in matrixed working, often with minimal supervision, and outstanding stakeholder engagement skills. Additionally, A&A has a degree of organisational separation and added regulatory oversight, which the candidate will need to understand and operate within.

This role is perfect for an experienced senior professional Internal Communicator with experience of partnering with, and offering solutions to, leadership teams in a large, complex, matrixed organisation – as well as a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Strategy: develop and deliver UK A&A's internal communications and engagement strategy, aligned with our firmwide strategy and our NSE Ambition, so that our efforts are coordinated and consistent, whilst also relevant to the many and diverse audiences in the UK geography
- Advisory: advise the Managing Partner, UK A&A, their Chief of Staff and other senior stakeholders within the business on a wide array of issues including key messages, tone of voice and channels mix
- Adaptation: carry forward and implement the UK A&A Internal Communications strategy
- Execution: plan, lead and deliver communications activities that help the UK A&A and its practitioners to meet strategic goals
- Localisation: adapt and contextualise your work depending on the audience and the objective
- Team working: work closely with other key stakeholders and peer groups including other Heads of Internal Communications, Brand & Marketing, External Communications, People & Purpose and HR and Social Impact teams to plan, design and deliver high-impact communications with measurable outcomes
- Listening: stay close to the 'pulse' of UK A&A – through strong relationships and both qualitative and quantitative feedback and measurement techniques, have a clear view of what is working well and areas that need improvement
- Network: be an active member of the firm's wider Internal Communications community, supporting development of more junior talent by sharing best practice and knowledge

Personal independence

This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
