Research Analyst, Aerospace & Defence – London
Role Profile:
Lazard Research Analysts are responsible for looking into the best ideas within their coverage universe, recommending those to portfolio teams and getting them implemented into the portfolios. Analysts are highly independent, utilizing high levels of sectoral understanding to focus on what they see as the best investment ideas across their coverage and conveying where they have high conviction in those recommendations. The role enables the ability to exhibit a high level of stock picking within their sector, investing in the best ideas an analyst has.
We'll trust you to:
- Have a thorough understanding of Aerospace & Defense sector and the companies within the sectors. Will be responsible for ensuring the best stock opportunities are held in (or recommended to) the relevant portfolios.
- Make stock recommendations through researching company, model company, liaise with company management, and attend site visits. Constantly monitor stock recommendations
- Work within the Research Industrials Team with analysts based in New York to understand the comparable company trends and what actionable insights we can take from peers.
- The position provides access to a considerable degree of travelling, whether to attend conferences or to meet/maintain communication with corporate management, decided by where the analyst deems interesting.
You'll need to have:
- At least 4 years + experience from the Aerospace & Defense research sector.
- Buy-side experience is highly desirable.
- Alpha generation ability. Demonstration of a strong ability to generate genuine insight that leads to strong returns for client portfolios.
- High degree of communication levels, enabling concise explanations of the investment idea, catalysts, trends and conviction levels.
- Ability to work within a team environment, whether within the Industrial team or in working with and mentoring more junior analysts across the research platform.
