Position: Learning Support Mentor - Service Industries, Business and Travel (Term Time Only)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support and guidance to students in the service industries, business, and travel programs.
- Assist students in achieving their learning objectives through one-on-one and group support sessions.
- Develop personalized learning plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning journey.
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Organize supplementary workshops and resources that promote skill development in the service industries.
- Assist with the preparation of course materials and resources.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance mentoring skills and educational practices.
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field such as business, travel, or service industries.
- Strong understanding of the educational landscape in the sectors of service industries, business, and travel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with students and staff.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology and tools to enhance learning and support.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience in a mentoring, teaching, or support role within an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience in the service industries, business, or travel sectors is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and supportive learning environments.
- Proven track record of working with diverse student populations and adapting to individual learning needs.
