Summary

We are seeking an experienced, confident, and compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to children from 8 years old and young adults who have a range of additional needs including:

  • Learning disabilities
  • ADHD
  • Autism / neurodiversity
  • Sensory needs
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Behaviours that challenge

The ideal candidate will be calm, patient, and skilled in using low-arousal, trauma-informed approaches. You must be confident working independently and able to support individuals who may become overwhelmed or dysregulated. This is a rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference in the daily life, confidence, and wellbeing of young people.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting emotional regulation using low-arousal and co-regulation approaches
  • Managing challenging behaviour confidently and safely
  • Providing sensory activities and following sensory plans
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence

Who We Are Looking For the ideal candidate will have:

Experience working with children (8+) or young adults with additional needs

Experience supporting behaviours that challenge

Understanding of ADHD, autism, sensory processing needs

Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure

Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with young people

Ability to follow structured plans and work as part of a wider team

NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – desirable

Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

Eligibility to work in the UK NO VISA SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week

Work Location: In person
