Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of our software applications through rigorous testing and validation processes. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify requirements, develop test cases, and execute various testing methodologies. Your expertise in test automation and software development life cycle (SDLC) will be crucial in enhancing our software quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
  • Conduct functional testing, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and performance testing to ensure software meets business requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to perform root cause analysis of defects and provide technical support for troubleshooting.
  • Engage in continuous integration practices using Jenkins, GitLab, or TFS to streamline the testing process.
  • Create detailed test cases based on requirements gathering and business analysis.
  • Perform regression testing for new releases and updates while managing release management processes.
  • Utilise various programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript for scripting automated tests.
  • Work with APIs (REST/SOAP) to validate backend functionality and ensure seamless integration with front-end applications.
  • Participate in load testing using tools like LoadRunner to assess application performance under varying conditions.
  • Document all findings, report issues using Jira or similar tools, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience

  • Proven experience in software testing with a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker or Kubernetes is advantageous.
  • Experience in database management systems like MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server for data validation purposes.
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and computer networking concepts is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git or SVN for code management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis and debugging effectively.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
