ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Warehouse Shift Manager, to assist in covering all aspects of day to day running of the Warehouse and Customisation Facility, to fulfil customer orders in a timely and accurate manner to meet Quality Standards and achieve Service Level Agreements and departmental KPIs. Manage inspection of all in-coming materials / products.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Resource Allocation

  • Supervise staff to ensure the day to day activities of the department, can achieve excellent customer service, high productivity, and a safe work environment.
  • To adhere to the company's Equal Opportunities policy and Dignity at work policy in all activities and to actively promote equality of opportunity wherever possible.

Controlling Internal & External Material Flows

  • Support and coordinate the goods in / out process ensuring materials and goods are handed in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Liaise with the carriers used to ensure efficient delivery to customers.

Stock Analysis & Control

  • Ensure that the quality of the product, storage conditions and service within the department is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.
  • Maintain the accuracy of stock always using stock rotation and by promptly investigating any stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain quality, batch control and traceability of stock and to ensure the department operates to the quality manual.
  • Supporting with the process of accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Organise goods returned stock in accordance with the goods return policy.
  • Ensure the association of all products to the correct barcodes were applicable.

Other

  • Liaising with other departments within the business group to ensure the common goal is achieved.
  • To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the company's' Health and Safety policy.
  • To be aware of site security and a key holder for the site.
  • To adhere to the company's Quality policy and Environmental policy.
  • Maintain a system of document control and archiving. 
  • Be prepared to undertake any internal / external training as required.
  • To be flexible as possible with working hours at times of heavy workload.
  • To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required.

KEY SKILLS

The candidate should show a good level of warehousing knowledge and skills, with some experience of supervising others.

Essential

  • Supervisory experience of a team within a warehouse environment.
  • Experience in using digital warehouse stock control systems.
  • Computer literacy.

Desirable

  • Bendi forklift certification.
  • Warehouse system experience e.g. SAGE, SAP.
  • First Aid trained.
  • Warehouse relevant training, COSH etc.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

  • Team of 30+ team working at Cardiff DC.
  • Working closely with other internal departments to ensure a quality service is maintained.

External

  • Meeting and communicating with product suppliers, couriers acting on behalf of the business, plus any other visitors to the warehousing site.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Support in supervising and coordinating a team of senior and general operatives
  • Ensure the correct method of carrier is used, plus effectively control stocks to reduce loss.  
  • Must be able to commute to the Cardiff DC site, plus also be open to travel elsewhere within the UK
  • Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 06:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Additional hours may be required to meet business need.
