About The Role
Pharmaron is currently looking to recruit a Deputy Team Leader to join our Cardiff site. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced synthetic organic chemist who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • The synthesis and purification of isotopically labelled compounds within agreed timeframes.
  • Perform in-process analytical testing.
  • Develop and redesign synthetic routes.
  • Liaise and build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to future quotation generation.
  • Where appropriate, project management and support/mentor colleagues.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience in a range of synthetic organic chemistry on lab scale.
  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable of both practical and theoretical synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Experience of managing/mentoring/supervising other synthetic chemists.
  • PhD in Organic Chemistry.
  • Experience of chromatographic techniques, both analytical and preparative.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
  • Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve.
  • Willing to get involved with new ideas and initiatives.
