Fountain Foods Limited are prepared vegetable specialists supplying a range of chilled and frozen processed fruit and vegetables.

Purpose: To audit, monitor, evaluate and improve quality systems and procedures and provide technical support to the operational teams, while maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with the business needs and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To audit compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP, Hygiene and HACCP controls, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence.
  • Effectively communicating to enable the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action – following up and monitoring completion of actions.
  • Suggesting areas of improvement, relating to fabrication and procedures.
  • Understanding the site traceability system to complete audits to demonstrate compliance, retrieve information for investigation purposes and co-ordinating and participating in scheduled traceability exercises.
  • To collect and administer samples (micro, nutritional, swab and organoleptic) against specific schedules or requests and populate and communicate results in a timely manner.
  • To conduct validation and verification exercises and trials to schedule / request to ensure processes / controls can deliver the required quality and food safety parameters.
  • Prepare and facilitate taste panels in accordance with procedure - ensuring that all results are accurately recorded and communicated to site.
  • Maintain calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
  • To assist in carrying out full investigations on specifications (micro and nutritional), complaints and incidents. Investigations may take the form of sampling, process reviews, traceability, or audits. Support delivery of corrective and preventative actions.
  • To support NPD trials and product launches, assisting in micro testing and product life assessment to ensure products are manufactured to the correct standard as necessary.
  • Providing technical support and advice to the factory team in the event of customer visit or audit.
  • Actively participate in / lead site projects from a technical perspective to deliver ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Complete document control requirements, including updating factory specifications and documentation.
  • Coordination of day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs
  • To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety, and the environment

Experience, Qualifications & Skills (E* = Essential, D*= Desired)

  • Previous experience of a similar role within food manufacturing (E)
  • Basic computer literacy / proficiency for standard office practices (E)
  • Food Safety / Hygiene – level 2 (E)
  • HACCP – Level 2 (D)
  • Internal Audit Process; Understanding and Experience (E)
  • Allergen Awareness; Understanding of risk (E)
  • GMP; Knowledge of techniques (E)
  • Non-conformance reporting techniques (E)
  • Microbiological awareness – understanding of basic of food safety (D)
  • Knowledge of fresh produce (D)
  • Understanding of basic legal labelling practice (D)
  • Understanding of basic weight legislation (D)
  • GCSE or equivalent standard in Literacy and Numeracy (E)
  • Excellent communication skills to enable effective, positive and collaborative working with other departments (E)
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy (E)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
