The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Topographical Surveyor to join our Aviation Department in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of high-profile projects with national clients across the aviation sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate geospatial data and collaborating with a highly skilled technical team. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be primarily site-based across the London area, with access to ongoing professional development.
What will I be doing in my new role?
- Leading and setting up survey projects.
- Undertaking various types of surveys sessions using a variety of specialised equipment and technology
- Working with modern survey methods and survey devices such as total stations, GNSS and data collectors.
- Establishing survey controls, setting out gridlines, levelling, traversing and other land surveying work.
- Recording surveying information accurately and consistently on site to the agreed specification and scope
- Processing data from the field into the office, post processing with software, such as AutoCAD
- Assisting with detailed field and office surveying assignments.
- Ensuring that all survey kit is maintained and well kept.
- Delivering to company policies, procedures, standards and best practices.
- Working with the Project Manager to assist with quoting for jobs.
- Any other duties as required by the business.
Requirements of the role:
- At least 3 years' experience delivering land surveys.
- A relevant degree/ qualification in surveying or a related discipline, however, candidates with suitable skills and proven experience will also be considered
- Competent user of survey instrumentation – GPS, Total Stations & 3D scanner
- Competent user of 2D / 3D AutoCAD
- Experience of Cyclone / Similar scanning software
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Experience of working to high safety standards.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of role related post-processing software.
- Strong technical knowledge.
- An ambition to learn and develop.
- Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients.
