Commercial Manager

We're seeking an experienced
Commercial Manager
to lead the product management and development of both new and existing financial products. This role will be pivotal in shaping the organisation's commercial strategy, ensuring our product suite remains competitive, customer-focused, and aligned with business goals.

The successful candidate will also oversee the management of key intermediary and third-party partnerships, driving commercial performance while supporting strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Management

  • Lead the design, delivery, and enhancement of the organisation's financial product range.
  • Draft and refine product papers and business cases, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate across teams—including Marketing, Operations, and Risk—to ensure propositions meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Work with marketing and customer insight teams to ensure product collateral and communications are relevant, compliant, and effective.

Commercial Analysis & Management Information (MI)

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive MI framework to monitor product performance, profitability, and customer outcomes.
  • Analyse data and performance trends to identify opportunities and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Build and maintain financial and performance models to inform pricing, budgeting, and strategic decisions.
  • Oversee ongoing product management activities such as pricing reviews, benchmarking, and market analysis.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key intermediary partners and third-party providers.
  • Oversee onboarding, performance evaluation, and governance of all commercial relationships.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders—Finance, Risk, and Operations—to ensure alignment on commercial objectives.

Market & Product Insight

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the wider financial services landscape, including emerging trends, competitor positioning, and customer expectations.
  • Provide strategic input on product propositions, pricing, and structure to ensure ongoing market relevance and commercial success.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Contribution

  • Identify opportunities to enhance product performance, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and commercial initiatives that support the organisation's long-term growth.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the business's product strategy and operating model.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Maintain awareness of risk management and financial crime obligations relevant to the role.
  • Uphold governance standards and ensure commercial practices align with organisational values.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial, product, or portfolio management role within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial products, commercial performance drivers, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and review product papers, define business requirements, and develop financial models.
  • Excellent analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business outcomes.
  • Confident communicator with proven stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment.
