Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders across a diverse patient demographic. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions.
- Develop personalised treatment plans based on individual diagnosis and therapeutic goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions to improve communication skills and swallowing abilities.
- Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to ensure holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about therapy techniques and strategies to support ongoing improvement at home.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in speech therapy practices through continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Speech Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Registration or licensure with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Health and Care Professions Council).
- Demonstrable knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy.
- Proven experience in conducting speech therapy assessments and delivering effective interventions is preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages.
