We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our thriving practice of Speech & Language Therapists as a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to work in secondary and post-16 education settings alongside our therapists for 3 days per week.

This role involves supporting the Talk SLT to provide intervention and packages of care under the direct supervision of the Speech & Language Therapist. This would have a focus on direct work with students, admin tasks related to child input, running & modelling groups within education settings, supporting the generalisation of universal strategies within the classroom and supporting training/workshops.

Responsibilities

  • To use highly developed IT skills to complete clinical and resource based admin support.
  • To work with students and staff at a level of autonomy deemed appropriate by the Speech and Language Therapists and as directed by them
  • Regular meetings with the Speech and Language Therapist to discuss key priorities for the caseload
  • Implementation and review of treatment plans devised by the SLT
  • Collecting and compiling relevant data to document child and setting progress towards goals
  • Assisting the SLT in the conduct of screening and assessment of SLCN
  • Perform support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, scheduling activities.
  • Liaising with professionals involved with the children
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Speech and Language Therapists
