Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

The Purpose of the role:

This innovative role sits within the Group Data Team who are dedicated to Transforming Data & Analytics practices throughout the Group through the deployment of our modern Qlik Sense & Qlik Catalog platform. The successful candidate will focus on improving the quality and impact of business insights.

With technical expertise, this role will work closely with data professionals through a coaching and co-creation model to deliver modern, impactful solutions which minimise the effort required to process business data and identify new insights to business leaders.

This role will be very well suited to a candidate with a strong background in Data Analytics and an aptitude for coaching others and knowledge sharing.

Working as BI Data Analyst & Coach you will:

  • Coach technical best practice for self-service analytics
  • Apply strong knowledge of Qlik suite to maximise impact
  • Act as subject expert for Group BI Community in modernising analytics
  • Proactively assess new features and promote adoption
  • Provide training & coaching on Qlik Sense to BI Champions
  • Drive safe adoption of scripting such as set analysis
  • Apply automations where possible to drive productivity
  • Ensure robust security compliance for safe data & app access
  • Continually push the boundaries to adopt modern analytics techniques

Skills for Success

Joining us as BI Data Analyst & Coach the minimum criteria you'll need is:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a data analyst or technical coaching role.
  • Experience in data analysis & business insights.
  • Experience of building analytics apps.
  • Exposure to modern business intelligence tools (e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in data modelling.

The Attributes you'll need include:

  • Aptitude for teaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Creativity to deliver impactful business insights.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills when working with both technical and business colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Capable of planning, coordinating and prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with other business units.
  • Self-motivated and reliable.

It is Desirable if you have:

  • Third level business, IT or Data & Analytics qualification.
  • Experience in technical coaching or training.
  • Experience in Retail sector.
  • Experience in self-service technologies.
  • Experience of integrations e.g. APIs

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
