The opportunity:Reporting to the UK&I Head of Major Loss, your overall responsibility will be to deliver on operational objectives, working closely with the other Heads of Major Loss, Practice Heads and Client Development Leads/Broker Development Leads.
The role:Work closely with the UK&I Head of Major Loss and other Heads of Major Loss and Practice Heads to;
o Review current Major Loss Practice processes and procedures, implementing agreed changes to:
o Ensure an identifiable McLarens product on all property claims over £100k
o Understand and accommodate client requirements
o Record all procedures for consistency and reference
o Develop innovative service delivery solutions
• Work at regional level in conjunction with Executive Managers and own team to implement agreed processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective technical resource for Major Loss handling, to include;
o Identify Major Loss resource at each Tier level
o Address skill gaps and training needs
o Mentor individuals
o Support recruitment as required
• In relation to all Commercial Property losses £100k - £1m, develop mechanisms to ensure robust overview and management of the claim (including on a claim-by-claim basis);
o Agree Loss Manager, team structure, and report sign-off procedures
o Review mitigation, subrogation, and reserve levels
o Liaise with Loss Manager, Client, and Insurer as required
o Attend site visits where appropriate
• In relation to regional claims handling £1m - £5m (in addition to above in respect of claims £100k - £1m);
o Attend site at the earliest opportunity if not acting as Loss Manager
o Sign off reports and fees
o Liaise regularly with Loss Manager and Insurer
o Provide cover for other regions as required
o Deliver monthly updates and post-claim reviews
• Responsible for leading any claims in excess of £5m.
• Delivery of excellent and consistent regional Major Loss Performance against set measures including:
o Client SLA's, audit results, QA measures, compliments, and complaints
• Support Head of Commercial Property in;
o Providing technical support on complex matters
o Managing surge activity
o Overseeing WIP, budgets, and credit control
• Engage in Business Development to promote, develop and raise both the individual's and the Company profile to ensure the growth of the McLarens Major Loss Practice by;
o Securing nominations through proactive engagement
o Participating in tenders, account management, and key market events
o Seeking new instructions and contributing to industry publications
- Progression with CII/CILA professional qualification
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Strong stakeholder management including a proven track record of building strong working relationships, externally and internally
- Personal pride in delivering outputs on time, with a focus on quality and communication, whilst managing multiple deadlines
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and problem-solving skills
- The ability to prioritise effectively and deal with conflicting demands
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently to self-manage work and time
- Tenacious and driven.
A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland is required as and when, so flexibility is a must.
