Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including community support and assisted living. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, health & Wellbeing and promoting independence. Successful candidates will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being and have experience or interest in senior care, dementia care, and related fields. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and physical well-being.
- Monitor health conditions and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques.
- Respond to emergencies with appropriate first aid procedures when necessary.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, hospice, or home support is desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Certification or training in first aid is advantageous.
- Valid driving licence preferred but not essential for transportation duties.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
- Physical ability to perform and assist with transfers & mobility tasks safely.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals.
