Job Summary

Working under the direction and guidance of the Design Manager, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of bespoke heavy duty electrical enclosures considering for example: -

  • Ingress Protection
  • Safety
  • Shock
  • Vibration
  • Stress
  • Temperature

Responsibilities

  • Update and modify existing HSUPS/APPL designs for new projects or to meet latest standards.
  • Assist the Design Manager with design process for end to-end project/product life cycle
  • Deliver on time and on budget.
  • Ensure best practice technical, logistical & commercial direction is always in place for designs
  • Liaise with company clients to ensure the customer's expectations / needs are met

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical design of bespoke products.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Experience of using CAD software to model folded, welded, sheet steel enclosures.
  • Experience in designing heavy-duty enclosures would be advantageous.
  • Experience of finite element analysis (FEA) would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels to negotiate best outcomes with customers.
  • Must have a competent level of mechanical engineering knowledge, HNC / HND.
  • Be proficient in MS office.

Located in Milton Keynes, AMP Power Protection Limited are a leading independent supplier of Power Protection equipment including UPS, Chargers, Battery Packs, and Generators. Our systems range from standard to complex, supplied to many sectors including DEFENCE, marine, power, water, and industrial.

The Package

Position is full-time, mainly officed based in Milton Keynes, with the potential for home working 1-2 days per week, Salary is £35-45k per annum (negotiable depending on experience), 4.5-day week (37.5 hours), 23 days holiday, free parking, company bonus, health care cash plan, and pension scheme.
