is seeking a dedicated
Food Technology Teacher**

About The Role
As the Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons designed to inspire creativity, independence, and confidence among SEND learners. You will play a central role in helping students develop important practical skills, including food preparation, nutrition awareness, safety in the kitchen, and healthy lifestyle choices.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about practical learning and committed to supporting students with diverse needs in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver well-structured and differentiated Food Technology lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Support learners in developing essential practical skills in a safe and supervised environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit students with a range of learning needs, including ASC, SEMH, and cognitive or physical difficulties.
  • Foster a classroom atmosphere that is positive, patient, and inclusive.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams, and SEND coordinators to ensure wrap-around support.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and contributing to individual learning plans.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and life-skills development through engaging practical activities.
  • Uphold the school's values, safeguarding policies, and commitment to providing a nurturing, secure learning environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience in SEND settings is highly preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum and the ability to deliver practical lessons safely and effectively.
  • A DBS on the Update Service is desirable; however, we can support you in applying for one if needed.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students grow academically and personally.
