Welfare Assistant

Darul Madinah, an Islamic schooling system with centers throughout the UK, is looking to recruit a welfare Assistant to join their enthusiastic and highly motivated team at Dar ul Madina. We are an OFSTED regulated nursery. We deliver the EYFS (key stage early learning stage) and the basic understanding Islamic curriculum to your child. We offer a vibrant mix of cultures where every child is welcomed and respected regardless of faith but rather as an individual, which promotes community cohesion. The Role:
Support of the children.
- To assist with children’s personal hygiene (washing hands).
- To share in the general care and supervision of the children during the session, both indoors and outdoors.
- Welfare and supervision of all pupils before or after the meal in the playground, hall, corridors, and classrooms as instructed by head teacher.
- To support children with individual needs.
- To ensure that that the ethos of the school is implemented, by providing an Islamic upbringing within the setting
- To provide emergency treatment for accidents and to record such treatment.
- To report all accidents/illnesses to the Head Teacher.
- To carry out responsibilities under common law and the Health and Safety Act and to adhere to the school's health and safety policy.
- To maintain discipline during the lunch break and to promote adherence to the school's behaviour and anti-bullying policies.
- To ensure that local authority policies on equality are adhered to by not differentiating between children on grounds of gender, race, or disability.
- To promote adherence to the school's code of conduct.
- To report any matters involving child protection immediately to the headteacher.
- To develop good relationships with the children and other professionals.
- To be aware of school procedures and follow school policies, including Safeguarding Children
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ level 2 in Childcare or equivalent
- At least 12 months experience of working in a successful early year setting.
- An understanding of child development, 0-5 years
- Ability to keep records pertaining to individual children

- First Aid certificate
- Food Hygiene certificate

- Worked in a successful nursery setting
Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Location: Blackburn
Language: English (required)
Hours of work: Part-time/Full-time with flexible option.
Pay: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
Holiday entitlement: Pro Rata

**Salary**: From £11.44 per hour
