Youth Mentor – Star Player Ltd
Location: Bournemouth (BH11)
Hourly Rate: £17.50 per hour
Hours: 6 hours per day, 38 weeks per year (term-time only)
Contract Type: Part-time (flexible options available – 0-hour contract can be offered to the right candidate)

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 mentoring sessions tailored to each young person
- Support with social-emotional development, behaviour, confidence, and resilience
- Assist with academic learning and study skills
- Build strong relationships with children, families, schools, and professionals
- Keep accurate records (attendance, session notes, progress reports)
- Work alongside tutors, SEN teams, and partner agencies
- Take part in ongoing professional development and mandatory safeguarding training
What We're Looking For
Please note: At least 1 year of proven mentoring experience is required.

Essential:
- Minimum 1 year experience working with young people (mentoring, youth work, education, childcare, or similar)
- Understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies
- Good communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills
- Reliability, resilience, and professionalism
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred (not essential):
- Experience supporting young people with SEN/D
- Full driving licence
- First Aid certificate
