Role Description
The Operations Manager (Technical Production) plays a critical role in the successful planning and delivery of technical production across DF Concerts' indoor concerts and outdoor events. This role requires a proactive and detail-focused leader who will drive excellence in production standards, safety compliance, and supplier management. Working collaboratively with promoters, venues, and internal teams, the Operations Manager ensures all technical elements are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with budget, enhancing both the artist and fan experience. They will also provide leadership across the Concert Operations team, embedding training and continuous improvement in all aspects of technical production.

Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Proven experience in technical production management within the live music or large-scale events sector, ideally at an arena or festival level.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and relevant health and safety legislation, with IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) qualification required.
- Highly competent in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting related to technical production.
- Extensive knowledge of production infrastructure, AV systems, rigging, staging, and production logistics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with sound judgement and decision-making capabilities in live event environments.
- Comfortable working unsocial hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required by the concert schedule.

What the role includes
- Lead the end-to-end technical production delivery for all indoor concerts and outdoor events, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with DF Concerts & Events standards.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for promoters, venues, and suppliers, providing accurate and timely costings and production specifications.
- Manage and cultivate relationships with all technical production suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and high delivery standards.
- Oversee and manage the Construction Design and Management (CDM) processes for indoor concerts, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice in production design and build.
- Oversee technical production planning and on-site delivery at DF Concerts outdoor events, acting as lead contact for technical advance teams and key suppliers.
- Support the Concert Operations Team with production advances when required, providing expertise on technical specifications, supplier coordination, and documentation.
- Act as Concert Operations Representative at concerts when required, ensuring the safe, professional, and efficient delivery of events in line with DF Concerts standards.
- Design and implement training programs on technical production for the Concert Operations team, ensuring upskilling, consistency, and compliance across the department.
- Maintain oversight of all health and safety matters related to technical production; implement risk assessments and ensure documentation and procedures meet industry and legal standards.
- Ensure collaborative planning with promoters, venues, and ticketing teams to support accurate on-sale planning and a seamless fan-first customer experience.
- Lead on technical aspects of concert advances and support project delivery by identifying and resolving technical risks and constraints early in the planning process.
- Provide reports and post-event evaluations to the Head of Concert Operations, ensuring continuous improvement across production delivery.
