Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, supporting care plans, and fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Support individuals in accordance with personalised care plans to meet their specific needs
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their independence and dignity
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
  • Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Support clients with meal preparation and feeding if required
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, ensuring safe transportation

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Valid driving licence and ability to drive is preferred for roles involving client transportation
  • Good understanding of care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
  • Proficiency in English, with excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
