Vacancies - Crisis Response Workers
Full-time and Part-Time positions available, 12-Month Fixed Term with possibility of permanent employment thereafter
About Spider Project
Spider Project delivers a 365-day crisis response service at Café 71 in Chester, providing immediate support and a safe, welcoming space for people experiencing crisis. Using our dynamic Creative Recovery approach, we aim to support individuals away from Accident & Emergency and other traditional crisis services where appropriate.
Our service offers a non-clinical environment where people can be supported out of crisis and, when suitable, engage with Spider Project's Creative Recovery Programme and wider support networks.
We have recently launched a new and exciting project to create a link between Café 71 and the new Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service (MHCAS) on Rosewood Ward at the Countess of Chester Hospital. Several of our permanent Crisis Response Workers have therefore been seconded to work at the MHCAS unit, and we are now recruiting to backfill those positions. The project is currently set to run for a trial period of 12 months; however it may become a permanent arrangement, meaning that we are then able to offer these roles on a permanent basis.
We welcome prospective applicants to visit us to gain a better understanding of our work. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
Overview of the Role
We are seeking compassionate and committed Crisis Response Workers to join our team. This role is central to the day-to-day delivery of our crisis service and involves direct 1:1 support for individuals in distress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 crisis support to individuals accessing the service
- Working in close partnership with external agencies including A&E, Police, NWAS, Primary Care services, NHS 111, Drug and Alcohol services, and other third-sector organisations
- Working alongside volunteers and co-producing the effective delivery of the crisis service and Creative Recovery Programme
There will also be the opportunity to work occasional shifts at the new MHCAS unit if that is of interest.
An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate, as the role involves working with vulnerable adults.
Working Hours
The service operates 365 days per year, between 10.00am and 10.00pm.
- Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Shifts are worked on a rota basis across 7 days, including evenings and weekends
- Latest finish time: 10.15pm
