Unity Advisory is a challenger advisory firm.
Built for the AI-enabled world, we operate a lean, conflict-free, and client-centric model that embeds AI across all workstreams.

Our culture is highly collaborative and flat-structured and free of traditional partner P&L silos – pursuing the best outcomes for our clients.

The Role
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented qualitied Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team. You'll own the monthly book-keeping and close process, manage accruals, external reporting and support accurate and timely reporting across the business. This is a hybrid role with a base in our Mayfair office and represents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in scaling our finance operations.

In addition to core accounting responsibilities, you will also act as an internal systems administrator for our finance platforms and our banking infrastructure – during a critical period of systems transformation.

This is a highly visible and key role with that will be integral to building our Finance function as we grow with exposure to leadership and an opportunity to embed modern finance processes from the ground up.

What You'll Do
The working environment at Unity Advisory is fast-paced and evolving. You will be involved in some or all the following:

  • Manage monthly book-keeping, journal entries and the month-end close process.
  • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and general ledger adjustments.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Assist in preparing management accounts and internal financial reporting packs.
  • Act as finance systems and banking platforms administrator, owning user access, approvals, controls, and data integrity.
  • Manage operational banking access, reconciliations, and cash transaction reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns, annual tax returns and statutory accounts, and other external financial reporting obligations
  • Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting dimensionality
  • Ensure financial accounting and control policies and procedures are in place and operational
  • Troubleshoot finance system issues and liaise with internal/external stakeholders to resolve.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and controls.
  • Contribute to the finance team's transformation agenda – driving automation, simplification, and scalable practices.

What You Bring

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Experience in financial accounting and closing processes, ideally in a fast-moving environment.
  • Prior exposure to ERP systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles, balance sheet control and reconciliations.
  • Confident using Excel and comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
  • Practical experience with banking operations, cash management and reconciliations.
  • A proactive mindset with strong ownership mentality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-finance teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in professional services or project-based environments.
  • Involvement in finance systems implementation, process automation, or ERP migration.
  • Interest in building scalable, tech-enabled finance infrastructure.

Working at Unity Advisory
A truly hybrid and flexible working environment. We offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI-driven advisory services. You'll be part of a high-impact finance function, empowered to shape how we scale our systems and processes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business and accelerate your finance career.
