We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you'll support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain the general ledger, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements

Position:
Financial Accountant

Location:
Hybrid – 3 days in London office (SW8 2LE)

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes and internal/external reporting
  • Manage billing, invoicing, and accurate cash allocation
  • Perform financial reconciliations across systems (e.g., Sage, Propman) and payroll accounts
  • Monitor and manage VAT compliance, expense tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee property-related schedules including rent, rates, service charges, insurance, and utilities
  • Lead efforts around debt recovery and credit control
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit queries
  • Manage capital expenditure reconciliations and maintain amortisation schedules
  • Provide support during finance system transitions and upgrades
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment processing aligned with financial regulations

Required Experience & Technical Competencies
To succeed in this role, you should bring:

  • Part-qualified accountant status (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in a financial accounting or similar finance role
  • Previous experience in the property or real estate sector is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and statutory reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage and Propman preferred, or similar systems)
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
