About the Company:

Our client is a well-established property finance lender, specialising in bridging finance for investment transactions. With a strong track record in the market, they are known for delivering fast, flexible, and tailored lending solutions to their clients and broker partners.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a (Senior) Bridging Underwriter
to join their team in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a background in property finance underwriting who thrives in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own pipeline of bridging loan applications from initial assessment to completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments on loan applications, ensuring they align with the company's lending policy.
  • Review valuation reports to assess property suitability and loan-to-value (LTV) calculations.
  • Ensure full KYC, AML, and compliance checks.
  • Approve or decline loan applications based on risk assessment, escalating where necessary.
  • Prepare detailed loan synopses, clearly outlining the rationale for lending decisions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries, ensuring smooth communication throughout the loan process.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in bridging underwriting or lending underwriter.
  • Capacity to manually underwrite without relying on automated decision-making processes.
  • Understanding regulations in relation to AML/KYC and regulated vs unregulated loans.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and property valuation.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a practical, common-sense approach to lending decisions.

Employment Type:

Full-time, Monday to Friday, On-site/Hybrid in Central London.
