Senior Underwriter – Professional Indemnity (UK Hybrid - Offices around UK)

I'm working with a specialist MGA looking to bring in an experienced PI Underwriter to help grow and develop their portfolio across the UK market.

This is a senior, technical role where you'll have the autonomy to trade, build broker relationships, and shape the performance of your region. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment and enjoys a mix of underwriting and broker-facing work.

What you'll be doing:


• Underwriting new and renewal PI risks within delegated authority


• Assessing and selecting profitable risks while maintaining strong technical standards


• Trading with brokers, negotiating terms, and spotting opportunities for growth


• Developing relationships with regional broker panels, including regular visits


• Supporting junior underwriters and acting as a technical referral point


• Contributing to portfolio performance, market insight, and continuous improvement


• Ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to compliance requirements

What we're looking for:


• Strong PI underwriting experience at senior level


• Confident trading skills and proven broker relationship management


• Solid technical knowledge of risk selection, pricing, and underwriting principles


• Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable driving new opportunities


• Experience mentoring or supporting less-experienced underwriters


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• CII qualifications (Dip CII or progress towards) are beneficial but not essential


• Acturis or similar system experience preferred
