Centrica Energy is our global energy trading and logistics arm. We trade power, gas, LNG, and energy attributes and connect producers, suppliers and offtakers in the wholesale energy markets - and we provide our clients with the best route-to-market services available to the market today with physical and financial settlement approaches. We currently trade gas across 20 countries and power across 28 European countries and the United States, whilst our LNG business has a global reach with cargoes delivered almost anywhere in the world. #LI-CET
We are seeking a experienced LNG Technology Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of technology solutions that support and enhance our LNG trading business. This role will act as a strategic partner to the LNG trading desk, ensuring that technology initiatives are aligned with commercial objectives and deliver measurable value.
This is a London based (close to Marble Arch) role, and we encourage hybrid working with 3 days in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
Serve as the primary technology liaison to the LNG trading desk, building strong relationships with traders, analysts, and commercial stakeholders
Translate trading strategies and business needs into actionable technology solutions.
Technology Delivery
Lead end-to-end delivery of LNG trading technology projects, from requirements gathering through to deployment and support
Oversee development teams ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
Manage project budgets, timelines, and risks.
Solution Design & Architecture
Collaborate with architects and developers to design scalable, secure, and performant systems
Proactively look to modernise our ETRM introducing increased tooling on top of our EOS application
Ensure integration with existing trading platforms, data feeds, and risk systems.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, cloud computing, data analytics) to enhance trading performance
Drive continuous improvement in system usability, reliability, and speed – increase user experience and system adoption.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all technology changes.
Team Management
Leading a team a team of 7 senior technologists ensuring that they have clear objectives and that they continue to develop their skills.
The Person:
Proven experience in technology delivery within a trading environment
Strong understanding of LNG trading workflows, market dynamics, Freight Trading, Shipping Operations, and risk management
Experience with trading platforms, ETRMs, and data analytics tools – experience of EOS and / or Endur would be particularly beneficial
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills – able to engage and influence with senior front office stakeholders
Experience in running modernisation/transformation programmes
Technical background in software development, systems integration, or data engineering is advantageous
Strong leadership and team management ability
Strategic thinking and commercial acumen
Problem-solving and analytical mindset
Adaptability in a fast-paced trading environment
Collaborative and proactive approach.
