Most Accounts Payable job ads look like they've been lifted straight from an accounting manual. They've got endless bullet points, clichés about "attention to detail" and the usual "fast-paced environment" nonsense.

This North Leeds based business has grown quickly and the finance team needs someone reliable to keep things running smoothly, which is where you come in.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Processing invoices and credit notes without letting things slip through the cracks.
  • Making sure suppliers get paid on time.
  • Reconciling statements and ledgers until they balance, because that's the point of the job.
  • Dealing with queries.
  • Keeping the Accounts Payable inbox from turning into a black hole.
  • Covering for colleagues when they're off.
  • Sorting out company credit card transactions (yes, people
    do
    still use them).

What they're looking for:

  • You've worked in finance before, ideally Accounts Payable.
  • You're not scared of Excel.
  • You can talk to suppliers like a human being, not a robot.
  • You know that reconciling accounts isn't glamorous, but you still get a quiet satisfaction when it all ticks over nicely.
