About Us
Are you passionate about helping children and young people build brighter futures?
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our growing team at our warm and nurturing 2-bed EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) children's home.
Our home provides a safe, structured, and caring environment where children and young people can thrive, heal, and achieve their full potential.
We are recruiting for both full-time positions and bank (zero-hour) roles to join our friendly and supportive team.
At Saffron House, part of Haven Support Ltd, we believe every child deserves a safe and nurturing home where they feel heard, valued, and supported to grow.
What You'll Do
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day care, guidance, and support of the young people living in our home. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining a safe, consistent, and nurturing home environment.
- Supporting children and young people before and after school — encouraging independence through routines like cooking, budgeting, and self-care.
- Taking part in care planning, keywork sessions, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
- Acting as a positive role model, promoting trust, resilience, and emotional well-being.
- Planning and leading fun, engaging activities and outings that promote learning, confidence, and social development.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every young person.
- Keeping accurate records, completing reports, and following safeguarding and confidentiality procedures at all times.
- Supporting young people's education, health, and emotional needs, including attending appointments and implementing individual care plans.
- Taking an active role in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training to enhance your professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential care or similar setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed practice.
- A positive attitude, resilience, and strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive young people as part of the role.
- Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check and reference verification.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay structure and overtime opportunities.
- Flexible working options (full-time and bank).
- Comprehensive training and professional development (including Level 3 qualification support).
- Supportive management and a strong team culture.
- Free on-site parking.
- Casual dress policy.
- Opportunities for career progression within an expanding organisation.
