This position is for a zero contract hours carer to cover annual leave, sickness , maternity and statuary sick pay.

Job description:

Female Carer/Personal Assistant/ companion required to work on a zero contract hours and provide personal and practical assistance, to enable a disabled lady live a more independent life when other carers of off. Our daughter is 20 and full of fun, has a passion for Abstract Art, has a brilliant personality.

Our daughter requires 2:1 care and so the successful candidate will be working as part of a team. For the right candidate we would take on someone without previous experience as they would be able to learn our daughters needs on the job. Ideally the candidate must be outgoing and have a fun personality. Our daughter has quadriplegia cerebral palsy. She use's a power chair to get around in. She loves to go out shopping , visiting new places , going for walks etc. She loves hair and beauty, music, art, cooking, football and good conversations. Our daughter's disability is physical not cognitive. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative.

MAIN DUTIES:

As part of a team you will be required to

Escort and support our daughter to events and outings. Assistance with personal care; to help with washing, toileting and dressing needs .

Assistance at meal time's with feeding.

Meal preparation if required too.

Assistance to complete daily physio exercises and to attend therapy /hospital appointments .

Assistance with light shopping tasks.

Assistance with domestic duties; laundry, changing bed her bed, cleaning and dusting her rooms and washing only .

Provide companionship.

To support our daughter on holidays

Supporting our daughter to live an enriched and fulfilled life, focussed on her individual hobbies, preferences and abilities.

To work flexibly as part of a team.

You will be required to maintain high personal standards at all times in the home and out.

Working Hours: Varied hours to be worked between the following when staff are off : Monday-Sunday on rota. In the future, there may be some nights. Must be flexible. To work between the times of on shift rota. Occasionally a 06.00am start will be required when our daughter is working as an extra on tv. Night times would be discussed in the future.

Exact working times are to be discussed directly with the prospective employer.

Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour

Successful applicants must like pets (cats, dogs etc)

The successful applicant for this role will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Licence/Certification:

Clean Driving Licence Is essential and experience of driving a wheelchair accessible van would be an advantage.

An Up to date First Aid certificate would be an advantage but not a necessity

Three references are required including one from your most recent employer.

Pay: £12.21 per hour
