Job Purpose:

Management of the Warehouse Team, ensuring that it is operating in an efficient and effective manner. Ensuring the team maintains the level of service required by Oakland partners, working towards departmental KPI's whilst adhering to company policies and procedures.

Role Overview:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Warehouse Team within the Open Food Department, ensuring the team maintains the high level of service required by Oakland partners, working towards departmental KPIs, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. This role is crucial in driving continuous improvement and fostering a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating, and managing the performance of the Warehouse Team to exceed KPIs.
  • Understanding, communicating, and driving departmental key performance indicators, including managing sales losses, labour costs, and agency usage.
  • Leading the consistent application of the Company People Management Process, including briefings, performance reviews, and supporting recruitment and development.
  • Maintaining and improving a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards, COSHH, HACCP, and MHE compliance.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and service.
  • Working cross-functionally with other departments to continuously improve service.

Salary: £35,000 per annum.

Who we are looking for: We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in warehouse management, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of health and safety and food safety requirements. You should be solution-focused, proactive, and dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations. An interest in long-term development and a keen motivation to elevate operational standards are highly valued.
